We offer tours Monday through Friday beginning at 9:30 A.M. Advance notice is appreciated. Please call 724-452-9457. Reservations are required for large groups, so that we may schedule docents. Tours begin at The Passavant House at 243 S. Main St. in Zelienople, and include the Buhl House. Please allow about 45 minutes to an hour for each house. The tours cost $5 per person. Tours may be possible at other times by appointment. Please call the office to schedule. During tour season from June through September, scheduled tours are offered on Saturdays at 1:00 and 2:30. No reservations are necessary for the scheduled tours, unless you have a large group. The Passavant House is home to a large collection of items relating to the Passavant Family and its place in Zelienople's history. Collections include clothing worn by early family members as well as furnishings, trunks, and household items brought from Germany. Items from the first Passavant store, family portraits, and several thousand letters written by and to Zélie Passavant, her children, other family members and friends are housed at Passavant House. The Lester Mohr Library and Society offices are located there. The Buhl House with its ten rooms houses a museum for the Buhl family and for the town. Collections include artifacts related to the history of Zelienople, its schools, commerce, business and daily life, as well as temporary, traveling, and "on loan" exhibits, Buhl family portraits, and items commemorating the family's beginnings in Zelienople and significance in history. The Buhl House also contains our Museum Shop.
